It’s going to get busy in East Tawakoni!!!
Friday, December 5 at the East Tawakoni Volunteer Fire Department located at 100 Littlefield Dr., the annual Spirit of East Tawakoni Chili Cook-off will get underway at 5:00 p.m. If you would like to enter the contest for best Chili in East Tawakoni, grab those secret spices and bring a big batch of chili to the Fire Station between 4:00 – 4:30 p.m. December 5. Judging will begin at 5:00 p.m. The first-place winner will receive a $50 gift card, a trophy, and bragging rights for a whole year! Everyone is invited to the free chili dinner starting shortly after the judging – bowls of chili, Frito chili pies, and chili dogs!
The tree lighting ceremony will begin at dark and will be held at the Library, 255 Oak Leaf Trail. The Mayor of East Tawakoni will officiate the tree lighting ceremony. Please make plans to attend both events!
Saturday, December 6, the East Tawakoni Volunteer Fire Department located at 100 Littlefield Dr. in East Tawakoni is sponsoring Pancakes with Santa. This is a free breakfast and starts at 8:00 a.m. – 9:45 a.m. Santa will be there to talk with all the kids and get those lists of toys!
After Pancakes with Santa, the Spirit of East Tawakoni’s annual Christmas parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at 288 Briggs Blvd., East Tawakoni. If you would like to be in the parade, be there at 9:45 a.m. for line-up! Of course, Santa will be there after his big breakfast at the Fire Station! Decorate your car, bike, motorcycle, golf cart, horse, or anything else you want to ride in the parade!
